Remembering precious lives at Christmas At the end of the yearfollowing your loved one's passing, we post out stars to you and invite you to call in for a cuppa, to place your messages on your star, on our native Englosh trees. A young tree commemorates the men who have passed; another treee commemorates the women we have lost and a third tree marks the lives of any little ones whohave sadly passed away from their families.
We know that the first Christmas is one of the hardest times, so we we open our doors every Saturday in December to host our families who need to remember and share some more memories with us and with other families who undertstand how you feel.
Tree of Life
The second event is a tree planting in a section of woodland that Bingley St Ives have allowed us to use to plant our special trees of memory. This event takes place the autumn after the Christmas Star event, when the tres have grown stronger and you and your family - and your pets if you wish - are welcome to come along to teh planting ceremony. We burn the stars and place the ashes from your messages at the root of each tree, and as the trees are planted, the names of such special lives marked by the tree are read out.
We try to give each family a token so that you might purchase something to commemorate your loved one at home at the end of the second year.
The trees are not marked in any way (but you know where they are) and the ground requests that flowers etc are not left. They are simply replenishing nature in the most natural way - but with a message for those of us who have a life associated with them: trees of love, trees of life - you can't get more special than that!
Entry in our Memorial Book After the funeral of your loved one, we will enter their name in our Book of Memory at our premises, where the page is turned each day of the year. Both their dates of birth and date of passing will always be commemorated with us.
