We are a brother and sister team, born in Bradford and both living in the city. We are the joint owners and Funeral Directors of Kane Family Funerals Ltd. which we created in memory of our inspirational parents, Rosemary and William Kane and our dear friend, Mair Lloyd-Pugh. With the support of Bill's wife, Gillian , his sons and family and our dedicated and professional team, we are proud to offer a very personal service that is ethically priced, includes many complimentary touches and guarantees you the family feel every time.
Our background and experience Bill Kane has years of experience within the funeral profession, having worked for several Bradford funeral directors and for the Coroner in Calderdale. He is a trained Samaritan, our Embalmer, our expert Stone-Mason, as well as commander in chief of our recently upgraded Volvo fleet of hearse and two limousines.
Rose Kane is a writer and 'people person' with a creative design background. With extensive professional experience of staff training, management and PR, Rose is our Funeral Director and experienced Funeral Celebrant, working closely with families to produce a fitting tribute for the service, where families request a Christian and/or Celebration of Life service but have no close relationship with a minister. Rose is a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants, a Member of the Society of Bereavement Practitioners and is our staff trainer, our materials designer and PR, Marketing & events specialist.
Honouring your beliefs and wishes - with integrity We are both Christians - confirmed Roman Catholics - with a strong allegiance also to the Church of England which we attended with our mum for some years after our Catholic father died when we were young. We state this so that you know that we will lead Christian services for you, where these are desired, with faith and we will work alongside your Priest or Minister where you have a strong relationship with a local church. In addition, we have a wide knowledge of the requirements of all faiths, have been privileged to work with Sikh, Hindu and Russian Orthodox faiths from Bradford and Leeds - and welcome families of all faiths into our care.
We will always strive to reflect and respect the wishes of your family loved one and your family and are currently extending our premises with a new chapel of rest that will have dedicated ritual washing and dressing facilities attached, for the comfort of families who wish to carry out this last service for their loved one.
Our aim is to help you to create unique tributes that honour your faith, your culture, your wish to celebrate life, or your wish for a completely humanist service. We do this with the utmost integrity and with a passion for personalisation and quality. Our personal beliefs are personal : our service to you is wholly about you and your loved one.
We are members of SAIF (society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors), the National Association of Green Funeral Directors a recommended Funeral Director of the Natural Death Society and we uphold Fair Funeral Prices.
Independent, Family Owned, Family Run - with the family feel. We are proud to be independent. We are not part of a national chain, not subject to company imposed pricing policies nor a pressurised sales strategy. We like to give time to each of our client families and offer bespoke services rather than a formula funeral. Every individual and their family has individual needs and it is our passion to meet those needs and reflect and honour a unique life, uniquely every time - with a great deal of care and sensitivity.
Our area Our premises are in Allerton, Bradford and we have conducted funerals across Bradford and in Huddersfield, Halifax, Guiseley,Keighley, Leeds, Wakefield, Manchester, including woodland burial at Settle and Skipton.
We are available to families across West Yorkshire and there are no additional charges for home visits at a distance from our base.
