'Independent' means that we are not part of a national chain and not bound by cost, "head office decisions" or any particular formula for our funerals.
We are family owned and family run, allowing us to work very closely with each family and to add those personal touches that matter.
We pride ourselves on our approachability, homely, family-focused premises and the warm welcome that we strive to offer to every visitor.
We create our own portfolio of services, retaining many of the old fashioned touches that we know you find helpful - such as transport and help with registering where you need a hand with those steps and the traditional procession from home or into church the night before the funeral - last tributes that we offer with pride and care wherever they are appreciated and feel right for you. We're also free to introduce our own modern touches when you and your family wish for these - such as intimate services at home, the tribute of a very different form of transport to commemorate a hobby, a more relaxed non-Victorian informal celebration of life that for children and young people is engaging and 'unscary' or the relaxed and peaceful, family involvement in a hands-on woodland ceremony.
Independent, family owned funeral directors maintain high standards of care and adhere to the principles of their professional memberships. We are members of teh NFFD (the National Federation of Funeral Directors),the Association of Green Funeral Directors and one of the Natural Death Society's recommended funeral directors. Bill Kane is a trained Samaritan, Embalmer and Stonemason and Rose Kane is a Member of the National Bereavement Society and as an experienced registered Funeral Celebrant, the Association of Independent Celebrants.
The 'family feel' is something we are proud to offer
