Memorial Showroom & Gallery Launches- June 2013

We are delighted to open our Landmark Memorials Showroom & Gallery at 255 Allerton Road, where we now display our range of memorial stone and the related services that Bill Kane offers - inclusive of hand lettering. The Gallery alongside offers a range of options following Cremation, inclusive of Memorial Jewellery, (yes, the Gallery is Rose Kane's part of the new expansion!)colourful scatter tubes and urns. Our gift section displays gifts for sympathy or any occasion and our hand-crafted cards are proving very popular, as are our memory box kits for creative youngsters. Precious pets are not forgotten and we feature a small section of remembrance and memorials for family friends of all shapes and sizes from the pet world.

Autumn Warmer Fund Raising Day - September

Bill Kane in treasure hunt 2012 and 2011 have been very busy and fulfilling years. We were delighted to welcome local people to our Autumn Warmer sale and fun day. to mark the beginning of National Bereavement week in September and to raise money for two local charities - ADSRA for disabled senior residents and Barnardos for young people. Paddy and Max, the horses were a big attraction and one lucky winner successfully guessed their combined weight -and took home an IPOD and DVD home centre.
Another winner guessed how many balloons were in the hearse and won a weekend tour and hotel stay for themselves and a partner.
Fun, traseure hunts, an auction, tea and bingo and the sale of new and nearly new goods that went to two very good causes made for an excellent day- and we warmly thank everyone who attended and supported us. As we released our doves and joined with you to release the balloons in memory of loved ones at the end of the day, we knew that this had been a day of shared celebration for everyone concerned.

Kane the Koala
Kane was kindly donated by Mia and after being a lifelong friend of hers, has settled in well on his chair by the entrance, where he can see what's going on inside and outside. He is already a firm favourite with children and has a smart, new black tie - suitable for his position as premises mascot!

Tree of Love, Tree of Life
Famlies and local people came in to place a star and message of memory for loved ones on our 'Christmas Trees with a difference' - and to share a mince pie with us. It was good to catch up with relatives who couldn't make the journey and to bring the mince pies to you, and collect your stars.

Memorial Tree Planting
We had fantastic weather in May 2011 for our memorial tree planting of the fruit tress from Christmas. Both trees were donated to Bingley St Ives where the walled garden is being restored to its former glory. Our coach from Allerton was packed with families who met up with teh drivers at Bingley for the garden ceremony where the names of our loved ones were read out as our tress went into the ground at their new home. Many thanbks to the friends of St Ives and Elder Care Homes who put on such a magnificent spread for us afterwards at the Mansion House and gave us such thoughful goodie bags to take home. Good luck to everyone in our party who volunteered on teh day to help the garden restoration project.

Our Morello Chery tress commemorates the lives of precious babies and children and our Cox's orange pippin tree commemorates beloved adult family members - and togbether they have started a relationship with the St Ives Estate that we hope will long continue.B

A new face on the team
We warmly welcome Josie Price to our team during summer 2011 for work experience. Josie is training to be a doctor and is just back from Ghana where she has been helpoing out in community clinics. During her summer break from University, she has experienced a wide range of tasks with us - with families, at ceremonies and in preparation and creative work and is gaining an understanding of our field that will benefir her as she works with families in her medical, surgical of GP future. She must have enjoyed it becuase she plans to return to is in future vacations!
